BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Amanda Lee Hing brings over two decades of distinguished experience as a performer and educator. A dedicated pianist, she has performed as a soloist with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the West Virginia University (WVU) Symphony Orchestra, the West Virginia University Wind Ensemble, the SAGU Concert Band, and the Waxahachie Area Band. She was also the winner of the Piano Texas International Academy and Festival Teachers Concerto Competition, winner of the WVU Young Artist Concerto Competition, and alternate winner of the WVMTA Young Artist Piano Competition. She was named the Southern Regional Education Scholar in 2002.
In addition to serving as Music Director of the Waxahachie Symphony Association, Dr. Lee Hing remains active in professional leadership, including serving as TMTA Conference Student Activities Coordinator and TMTA Collegiate Chapters Chair. She has presented at MTNA National Conferences and TMTA State Conventions and has conducted masterclasses and pedagogy workshops throughout the United States and Asia. She has been a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) for over 25 years and continues to serve as a clinician and adjudicator for festivals and competitions.
She currently serves as Professor of Piano at Nelson University and recently received the 2025 Distinguished Faculty Award. She had previously served as an adjunct faculty at Glenville State College and Washington & Jefferson College.
